Since the beginning of the 20th century, Viyuela family has vineyards in the area of Boada de Roa, which have always been used for winemaking. Gabriela Viyuela was responsible for keeping this crop in the family for future generations.

The cultivation of the vine keept on going, making wine in the old wineries located in Boada de Roa, and storing the wines in the underground winery located in the center of the village.
FOUNDATION OF BODEGAS VIYUELA
The Viyuela family decides to turn the production of wines and become more professional, building a modern and functional winery, framed within the D.O. Ribera del Duero. The goal of producing wines of great quality and complexity was the idea that headed our decision. As President of the winery was Mr. Andrés González Viyuela, the older son of Gabriela.
OUR FIRST VINTAGE
In 2003 took place our first harvest as Viyuela winery, in the frame of DO Ribera del Duero
WE COMPLETE OUR PRODUCT LINE AND CHANGE IMAGE
It was in 2006 when Viyuela could complete the product range, launching its 2003 Reserve for the first time. At this time important change in the labeling was made, that would last for a decade.
TIME FOR CHANGE
After the retirement of Andrés, President of Viyuela, was his brother José Ángel who assumed this role, hand in hand with his daughter. The generational change started, which will be accompanied by numerous changes in Viyuela Wineries and especially focusing on international markets
GREAT GOLD ZARCILLO
We achieved the greatest national recognition in the Spanish wine frame: Great Gold Zarcillo for our Viyuela X Anniversary 2013. This award culminates the long list of national and international recognitions that our wines have obtained in the last years.
INTERNATIONALIZATION AND RECOGNITION
Currently Bodegas Viyuela has a large national and international presence, exporting its wines to more than 20 countries in Europe, America and Asia. Our international recognitions increases year by year, with very good puntuations and awards given by international organizations such as Decanter, James Suckling or Wine Advocate.
